Where to Start Your Private Tour of Los Angeles
Your Guide to Convenient and Memorable LA Tour Pick-Up Locations

Planning a private tour in Los Angeles? With the city spanning over 500 square miles—and LA County stretching to a massive 4,000 square miles—getting around can be a challenge. In fact, the county covers more area than the states of Delaware and Rhode Island combined! Because of this, we at Tour Du Jour focus our pick-up and drop-off locations within a specific area. This ensures you get the most out of your experience without spending unnecessary costs and time in traffic.

Los Angeles is known for its legendary traffic congestion. Since the city was built with the automobile in mind, and because we charge by the hour, it’s in your best interest to start your tour close to the action. Long drives from distant neighborhoods or airports can eat into your tour time. They can also make scheduling unpredictable. For this reason, we are unable to offer pick-up services outside our primary touring area. This includes locations such as Orange County (home to Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, and the beaches of Newport and Laguna). It also includes major transit hubs like LAX and the cruise ports in San Pedro and Long Beach.

Best Places to Begin Your Tour
Beverly Hills or Hollywood
These neighborhoods are perfectly situated near LA’s most iconic attractions. Whether you’re staying at a hotel, enjoying a meal at a restaurant, or visiting a museum, we can pick you up at your convenience. Popular gathering spots include The Grove and the Original Farmer’s Market in Hollywood. Additionally, there are luxurious hotels around Beverly Hills’ Golden Triangle—like The Peninsula, Beverly Wilshire, Waldorf Astoria and The Maybourne. These areas offer a vibrant, walkable setting where you can shop, dine, and people-watch before or after your tour.
For a true LA experience, consider starting your tour day at The Beverly Hills Hotel after lunch at the star-studded Polo Lounge. Or let us pick you up at The Ivy on Robertson, a restaurant renowned for celebrity sightings and paparazzi.

Santa Monica and Venice
Prefer to stay by the ocean? No problem! If you’re at the Venice Boardwalk, Santa Monica Pier, or oceanfront hotels like Shutters, Casa Del Mar, or The Regent, we can meet you at the valet or a designated pick-up spot. These coastal areas—and Downtown LA—are about a 30-minute drive from Hollywood. Therefore, starting your tour here adds roughly a half-hour to your excursion. Many guests opt to drive into Hollywood to begin their tour, but both options are available. Be sure to check our website for the specific tour durations from these locations.

Getting to Your Pick-Up Location
If you plan to drive, rest assured that our recommended locations offer plenty of parking. The Grove features a multi-level parking structure, and the neighboring Original Farmer’s Market has several lots. Most hotels provide valet parking, and you might be surprised to learn that the City of Beverly Hills has affordable parking facilities just steps from Rodeo Drive. Uber, Lyft and Waymo are other popular options. LA also has an underground Metro system that hits many popular destinations throughout the city.
Wherever you choose to start from our recommendations, we’re committed to making your LA tour smooth, enjoyable, and unforgettable.
